Strengthening Minds and Bodies
Cirrus Academy utilizes our athletic program for the educational and physical development of every participating scholar. The principles of athletics serve as an essential part of the total educational experience offered at Cirrus. Each sport within our athletic program fosters an emotional, physical, and intellectual foundation for growth and well-being.
Cirrus Academy’s athletic teams reflect the overall quality of the school system; therefore, we expect a commitment to excellence from all participants in the athletic program. We encourage scholar-athletes to demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and dedication to their team and teammates; act with integrity and honor; and understand their role within the school and the greater community. Our scholars receive a positive athletic experience through our emphasis on:
- Confidence
- Enjoyment of the sport
- Loyalty
- Self-esteem
- Spirit
Influential Lessons On and Off the Field
Athletic participation leads to scholars developing useful lessons that are applicable to both the game and day-to-day life. Our coaches consistently highlight the value of hard work, skill development, and perseverance through adversity, no matter the sport.
Eligibility
Cirrus Academy enforces our “no pass, no play” rules for scholars interested in athletic participation. Scholars must pass 5 out of 6 classes with a minimum of 70% the semester before they play. Split season sports (winter sports) have two eligibility phases.
Water Safety
Cirrus Academy abides by the HB 402 law which requires Georgia School districts to provide water safety education annually to parents and guardians of students under 18 years of age and directly to students who are 18 years of age or older. Please see our attached flyer:
Participating Grade Levels
Scholars in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are allowed to participate in all sports programs as long as they qualify academically. All athletes must have a current physical on file that is signed and dated by a medical provider.
Age Limits
Scholars who reach their 15th birthday before April 1 of the year may not participate in our athletic programs.
Football Spring and Summer Training
Scholars may participate in our football training program; however, they must meet grade eligibility to play in the fall.
